Farewell to the Gazelle
To celebrate the distinguished service history of the Gazelle helicopter, and mark its withdrawal from service at the end of this month, 5 Regt AAC will be conducting a final fly past through the UK next Monday 23rd October 2023. Click to read more.

UK Armed Forces Enhanced Forward Presence, Estonia June 2023
Last month (June 2023) saw the AAC Wildcat (pictured) and Apache operating as part of the UK Armed Forces Enhanced Forward Presence (EfP) in Estonia. The latest exercises saw collaboration with Joint Terminal Air Controllers, The Queen’s Royal Hussars and the French Foreign Legion.

Suffolk Day and 4AAC Freedom Parade 21 June 2023 (1)
Soldiers from 4 Regiment AAC based in Wattisham, Suffolk, had the privilege of parading through Ipswich on Suffolk Day, 21 June 2023. 4AAC were exercising their ‘Freedom of the Borough’ granted to the Regiment in 2002 in recognition of the close working relationship between 4AAC and the civic leaders of Ipswich.

AAC at Suffolk Show , 21 June 2023
Images from 6 Regiment AAC (Reserves) of Suffolk’s big weekend, show 6AAC’s involvement in the county’s festivities which included locating an Apache among the exhibition stands forming part of the attractions at the Suffolk Show.

1AAC- NATO Force Integration Unit, Estonia 25 May 2023 (1/2)
661 Sqn, 1 Regt AAC, visited NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) Estonia, 25 May 2023, to deliver capability briefs, explain their role within Ex Spring Storm and give air experience flights to a number of personnel. 'It was a superb opportunity to learn about helicopter operations and the NFIU are extremely grateful to the Army Air Corps for supporting the event.' 661 Sqn then continued with their training conducting live firing exercises alongside their Estonian colleagues.

Ex Spring Storm is a 14000 strong multi-national NATO exercise taking place in Estonia, May 2023. The purpose of the exercise is to ensure interoperability and alignment to the Estonian National Defence Plan. Wildcat and Apache helicopters from 1 Regt AAC and 4 Regt AAC have formed an Aviation Task Force whilst deployed. During their stay they will support NATO partners, forming part of the enhanced Forward Presence (EfP) and operating alongside other deployed UK units. AAC Sports Awards, May 2023
Pictured: Champion athlete Cpl G Griffin AAC, received the Patrick Priestley Trophy as Best AAC Sportsperson of 2022; the trophy was awarded by Ms Kate Whiting, sister of the late Patrick Priestley. The AAC Sports Awards 2022, took place at the Officers’ Mess, Middle Wallop, May 2023.

AAC takes part in Coronation of King Charles III, 6 May 2023
At the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the Army Air Corps featured both on the ground and in the air. Personnel from across the AAC participated in the 1.42 mile long procession, marching from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, covering the London landmarks of Buckingham Palace, The Mall, Admiralty Arch, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Parliament Square and Westminster Abbey. In total, over 4000 personnel from the UK Armed Forces and Commonwealth participated in the Coronation procession.

AAC takes part in Coronation of King Charles III, 6 May 2023
The helicopter element of the Coronation flypast departed from RAF Benson, Oxfordshire, with all three branches flying in close formation over Buckingham palace before returning to their bases. Despite the weather, a tri-service Helicopter flypast of nearly 30 aircraft was able to be conducted, featuring Apache's from 3 Regt AAC and a Wildcat from 1 Regt AAC. Congratulations to all personnel involved, particularly those from the AAC, a proud moment in their careers for all those participants on a momentous day.
